Draymond Green Gives Harsh Reality Check to LeBron James

Father Time is unbeaten and it looks as though LeBron James may be his latest victim.

LeBron is averaging 18 PPG on 43% FG and 13% 3P over his last seven games – which is his worst stretch in 20 years.

Draymond Green is good friends with the Lakers great and even he admits that Father Time is catching up to a seemingly previously ageless LeBron.

“Is father time catching up to him? Absolutely,” Green told co-host and former Golden State guard Baron Davis on The Draymond Green Show. “Because Father Time catches up to everyone.”

But he went on to defend LeBron, who had a huge offseason for an almost 40-year-old.

“However, where I disagree, is people are saying, ‘We just saw it. He’s done now. We’ve been waiting on it. Now he’s done.’ No, no, no. I disagree with that,” Green said. “And the reason I disagree with that is because, quite frankly, what it looks like to me right now is that he’s a little tired.

“But you also have to remember — and I know all of y’all have forgot because y’all forget things so fast — the [Lakers] played into the playoffs last year, they fought an uphill battle to actually make it there and get to the playoffs, and then he comes in and does the Olympics. No time off.”

James was instrumental in Team USA’s gold medal campaign campaign in Paris over the summer.

While Green admits that time is not on LeBron’s side, he believes the four-time champion can bounce back from his current form slump.

“I think ‘Bron has just hit a little bit of a wall right now,” Green said “The way people are trying to throw it out there, like, ‘Father Time has caught him, it’s here in our face and we’re just about to watch this decline happen.’ No chance.”
