The most exciting game of round 10 in the BBL took place in Muenchen. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of higher ranked Bayern Muenchen (6-3) to eighth ranked Rasta Vechta (5-4) 78-77 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bayern Muenchen. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jayden Gardner (201-2000, college: Virginia, agency: MSG) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import point guard Tyger Campbell (180-2000, college: UCLA) contributed with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American guard Carsen Edwards (183-1998, college: Purdue) replied with 22 points for Bayern. Bayern Muenchen’s coach tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Rasta Vechta have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ludwigsburg and Weissenfels. Defending champion Bayern keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with Chemnitz. Vechta is looking forward to face Hamburg (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bayern will play against Rostock (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
BG Goettingens fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after seven consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Bamberg (2-6) 97-88. American power forward Demajeo Wiggins (208-1997, college: BGSU) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Jimmy Boeheim chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Ronaldo Segu (183-1999, college: Buffalo) responded with 9 points and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BG Goettingen maintains seventeenth position with 1-7 record. It was Bamberg‘s third loss in a row. They keep the fifteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Frankfurt. Goettingen will play against higher ranked Oldenburg (#11) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Bamberg will play against Bonn (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Chemnitz was also quite interesting. 4th ranked s Oliver Baskets (5-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Chemnitz (6-3). Chemnitz managed to secure a 4-point victory 81-77 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of s Oliver Baskets. Aher Uguak notched 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort. Even 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Jhivvan Jackson did not help to save the game for Wuerzburg. s Oliver Baskets’ coach tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. Chemnitz moved-up to third place, which they share with Bayern. Wuerzburg at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Chemnitz will meet Ludwigsburg (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Wuerzburg will play against ALBA and hope to secure a win.

Other games in round 10 were not that significant. Frankfurt was beaten by Hamburg on the road 91-78. Heidelberg won against Rostock on its own court 86-81. Ludwigsburg managed to outperform ALBA in a road game 74-60. Braunschweig managed to beat Weissenfels at home 76-70. Ulm crushed Bonn on the opponent’s court 95-75.
The most impressive performance of 10th round was 17 points and 6 assists by Kostja Mushidi of Goettingen.


Chemnitz – Wuerzburg 81-77

The game in Chemnitz was also quite interesting. 4th ranked s Oliver Baskets (5-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Chemnitz (6-3). Chemnitz managed to secure a 4-point victory 81-77 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of s Oliver Baskets. Chemnitz outrebounded Wuerzburg 41-25 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chemnitz looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. South Sudanese-Canadian Aher Uguak (201-1998, college: Loyola, IL) notched 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American Victor Bailey Jr (193-1998, college: GMU) supported him with 20 points. Five Chemnitz players scored in double figures. Even 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Panamanian-Puerto Rican point guard Jhivvan Jackson (182-1998, college: UTSA) did not help to save the game for Wuerzburg. American Zachary Seljaas (202-1997, college: BYU) added 13 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for lost side. s Oliver Baskets’ coach tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. Chemnitz moved-up to third place, which they share with Bayern. Wuerzburg at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Hamburg Towers and 16th ranked Skyliners had identical 2-5 record. This time Hamburg Towers used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Frankfurt 91-78 on Saturday night. Hamburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American point guard Brae Ivey (187-1997, college: SJSU, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists to lead the effort and South Sudanese-American power forward Kur Kuath (208-1998, college: Marquette) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Heidelberg made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. American guard DJ Horne (185-2000, college: NC State) notched 22 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Croatian Mateo Seric (204-1999) supported him with 14 points. MLP Academics Heidelberg’s coach Daniel Jansson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game.
