It’s still too early stage of the Regular Season in VTB-Youth League, but even now we can clearly see the difference between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

MBA-2 (5-1) recorded its first loss in Krasnodar on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Lokomotiv-2 (3-1) 72-60. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of MBA-2. Lokomotiv-2 forced 25 MBA-2 turnovers. Guard Ilya Grushevskiy (194-2005) fired 23 points and 8 assists for the winners. Center Pavel Ryabkov (202-2006) chipped in 16 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Georgiy Salagaev (200-2005) produced 14 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lokomotiv-2 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Khimki-2. MBA-2 at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Lokomotiv-2 is looking forward to face Uralmash-2 (#10) in Yekaterinburg in the next round where they are favorite. MBA-2 will play at home against Minsk (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game was between eighth ranked Khimki-2 and 5th ranked Minsk where host Khimki-2 (3-1) won against Minsk (3-3) 63-53. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Andrey Bovduy (200-2005) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. Arseniy Ivankov contributed with 13 points for the winners. Belarusian forward Pavel Rabushko (198-2006) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Minsk. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Khimki-2 moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lokomotiv-2. Newly promoted Minsk dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with UNICS-2. Khimki-2 will play against Enisey-2 (#12) in Krasnoyarsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Minsk will play on the road against MBA-2 (#4) in Moscow and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Undefeated leader CSKA-Junior delivered the eighth consecutive victory on Tuesday night. This time they beat 8th ranked Parma-2 (3-5) 90-83 in Moscow. Nikolay Natcvlishvili scored 28 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Mikhail Stafeev responded with 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated CSKA-Junior (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row. Loser Parma-2 dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. CSKA-Junior will meet N.Novgorod-2 (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Parma-2 will have a break next round.

Rest of the games of round 10 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
N.Novgorod-2 defeated Avtodor-2 in Nizhny Novgorod 84-66. Samara-2 was beaten by UNICS-2 at home 79-97. Uralmash-2 was destroyed by Zenit-2 on the opponent’s court 82-58.



Avtodor-2 – N.Novgorod-2 66-84

There was no surprise in Saratov where bottom-ranked Avtodor-2 (0-8) was defeated by fourth ranked N.Novgorod-2 (6-2) 84-66 on Tuesday. N.Novgorod-2 forced 21 Avtodor-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Avtodor-2‘s players. Forward Yaroslav Anikin (198-2005) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Georgiy Shilokhvostov (190-2005) chipped in 20 points during the contest. N.Novgorod-2’s coach Ilya Rodionov used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side center Anton Suschik (210-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Arseniy Nikulin (188-2007) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. N.Novgorod-2 have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Avtodor-2 still closes the standings with eight games lost. N.Novgorod-2 will meet at home league’s leader CSKA-Junior in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Avtodor-2 will have a break next round.

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked UNICS-2 (3-3) defeated on the road 11th ranked Samara-2 (1-7) 97-79 on Tuesday. UNICS-2 forced 20 Samara-2 turnovers. Point guard Magomednabi Khalilulaev (186-2006) scored 31 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Alexandr Gerega (192-2005) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five UNICS-2 players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Ivan Kasyanov (205-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Bogdan Shuvakin (198-2006) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. UNICS-2 moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Minsk. Loser Samara-2 keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. UNICS-2 will meet at home league’s second-placed Zenit-2 in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Samara-2 will have a break next round.

Very expected game in Saint Petersburg where 10th ranked Uralmash-2 (2-6) was rolled over by second ranked Zenit-2 (7-1) 82-58 on Tuesday. Zenit-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Uralmash-2‘s players. Timur Ivanov (200-2006) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ivan Vasilev (202-2007) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Four Zenit-2 players scored in double figures. At the losing side Artyom Fomin (189-2005) responded with 18 points and point guard Matvey Reshetov (178-2005) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 7-1 record behind leader CSKA-Junior. Uralmash-2 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with six games lost.
