There were only 2 rounds played so far and it’s still very beginning of the Regular Season in ProA. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Kirchheim Knights recorded a loss on the court of Phoenix Hagen on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Phoenix Hagen 75-70. 24 personal fouls committed by Kirchheim helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Naz Bohannon (198-1999, college: Clemson) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Sincere Carry (185-1999, college: Kent St.) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Phoenix Hagen’s coach Chris Harris used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. point guard Braden Norris (183-1999, college: Loyola, IL) produced 16 points and 5 assists for the guests. Phoenix Hagen is looking forward to face Bayreuth on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kirchheim Knights will play against Bochum and are hoping to win this game.
The game in Jena was also worth to mention about. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven played at the court of Science City Jena. Science City Jena managed to secure a 6-point victory 81-75. American forward Rasheed Moore (198-1995, college: ESU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Robin Christen contributed with 19 points for the winners. Canadian point guard Elijah Miller (183-1997, college: UPEI) replied with 18 points and 7 assists for Bremerhaven. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven’s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Science City Jena will play against Duesseldorf on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against Crailsheim to get more than just one victory in their record.
A very close game took place in Giessen between 46ers and Lions. 46ers got a very close home victory over Lions. 46ers managed to escape with a 2-point win 66-64 on Sunday evening. Mladen Vujic scored 12 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. 46ers’ coach Branislav Ignjatovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Lukas Herzog responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). 46ers will meet Muenster on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lions will play against Vechta 2 and hope to win that game.

Rest of the games of round 2 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Trier crushed Vechta 2 in a road game 112-84. Bochum beat Duesseldorf at home 79-73. Muenster won against Tuebingen on the opponent’s court 85-67. Artland managed to outperform Bayreuth in a home game 106-96. Winless Nuernberg lost to undefeated Crailsheim on the road 67-84. Koblenz defeated Dresden on its own court 79-76.
The best stats of 2nd round was 28 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by Ty Cockfield Jr of Koblenz.



Vechta 2 – Trier 84-112

But Vechta-2 was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Trier 112-84 on Saturday night. Trier dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vechta-2‘s 38 and made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. American JJ Mann (198-1991, college: Belmont) scored 27 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Iranian Behnam Yakhchali (196-1995, agency: BIG) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Gladiators players scored in double figures. Linus Trettin (202-2005) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Kaya Bayram (188-2004) scored 11 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiators will meet at home Koblenz in the next round. Vechta-2 will play against Karlsruhe PS and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
