The Regular Season in ProA just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Gladiators in Trier on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Tigers 77-69. American point guard Kenny Cooper (183-1998, college: Tennessee St.) stepped up and scored 16 points for the winners and British power forward Samuel Idowu (203-1997, college: St.Peter’s) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Clay Guillozet (193-1997, college: Valdosta St.) responded with 20 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tigers is looking forward to face Muenster at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gladiators will play against Vechta 2 and are hoping to win this game.
Very significant was Bochum’s 17-point road victory against Koblenz 81-64. American guard Keith Braxton (196-1997, college: SFU) nailed 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Tom Alte accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds. American point guard Ty Cockfield Jr. (183-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: BIG) came up with 20 points for Koblenz in the defeat. Bochum will play against Duesseldorf at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koblenz will play against Dresden to get more than just one victory in their record.
Quite upsetting was Bayreuth‘s home defeat in a game versus Crailsheim who edged hosts 106-103. Bayreuth was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. Tyreese Blunt fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Demarcus Demonia produced 30 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Bayreuth’s coach Florian Wedell tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Crailsheim will meet at home Nuernberg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bayreuth will play against Artland in Quakenbrueck and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 1: winless Duesseldorf lost to undefeated Dresden on the opponent’s court 74-84. Winless Hagen lost to undefeated Jena in a home game 76-84. Winless Giessen lost to undefeated Kirchheim on the road 73-92. Muenster defeated Karlsruhe PS on its own court 84-73. Winless Vechta 2 lost to undefeated Bremerhaven in a road game 64-111. Winless Nuernberg lost to undefeated Artland at home 71-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points and 5 rebounds by Daniel Monteroso of Nuernberg.

Trier – Tuebingen 69-77

Koblenz – Bochum 64-81

Very significant was Bochum’s 17-point road victory against Koblenz 81-64. SparkassenStars dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Koblenz‘s 22 and made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game.
