MKE Ankaragucu (TBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old American (has also Bulgarian passport) 193cm guard Brandon Young (college: DePaul, agency: BIG) for season 2024-25. Young joins another USA player CJ Elleby who is already in the roster.
He played most recently at Al Ahli Sports Club Doha in Qatari QBL league. He also played for CSKA Sofia in Bulgarian NBL where in 16 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.8ppg, 2.4rpg, 6.0apg and 2.3spg last season. Good year as he was voted League Player of the Week. He has been regularly called to Bulgarian Senior National Team since 2023.
Young is a very experienced player. Thanks to Young’s pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in nine different countries. He has played previously professionally in Greece (Kolossos H Hotels Rodou and Lavrio), Hungary (Szolnok), Lebanon (Champville), Poland (Trefl), Switzerland (Monthey-Chablais), Ukraine (Cherkasy and Kyiv Basket), Bulgaria (Levski), NBA G League (Texas Legends) and The Basketball Tournament (Brothers DB). Young was also selected to Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Superleague Honorable Mention back in 2019 and 2021.
His college team made it to the Bulgarian Cup final in 2023.
He graduated from De Paul University in 2014 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
