Defending champion Patrioti Levice (Nike SBL) strengthened their roster with the addition of 28-year-old American power forward Stephon Jelks (198cm-102kg-1996, college: Mercer) for the 2024-25 season. He is the second foreign player on the team, with Swedish Felix Terins already signed. Jelks played for SYNTAINICS MBC Weissenfels in the German BBL league for the last two seasons, averaging 6.6ppg, 4.3rpg, and 2.0apg in 33 games last season.
“After discussions with coach Madzin, I came to the decision that this team can be the best place for my further growth and development. I’m transferring to a team that is used to winning trophies and I’m a very competitive type of player who wants to help the club maintain its dominance in the domestic competition and achieve as much success as possible in the FIBA Cups. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Levice, the way the club operates, the fan base and the community that sticks together. I am looking forward to the city, the fans and a great season,” Jelks told the club’s official website.
Among many awards, his team won the Austrian Supercup in 2022. Jelks was voted to the Eurobasket.com Austrian League All-Imports Team in 2022.
He graduated from Mercer University in 2018 and it’ll be his seventh season as a pro player.
