Umana Reyer Venezia (Serie A) signed 25-year-old 208cm center Alessandro Lever (college: GCU, agency: Players Group) for the upcoming season. He is a well-known player in Italian Serie A, having most recently played for Gevi Napoli Basket. In 30 Serie A games last season, he averaged 5.3ppg and 2.1rpg, helping his team win the cup. Lever previously played for Allianz Pallacanestro Trieste for two seasons (2021-23).
Lever was also a member of the Italian international program for some years. He played for the Italian Senior National Team in 2021 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2018.
Lever represented Italy at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers last year. During this event, he scored an average of 13.9 ppg and had 5.1 rpg.
He graduated from Grand Canyon State University in 2021 and is in his fourth season in pro basketball.
