The NBA has declared that Doc Rivers, who returned to the NBA sidelines just five days ago, has secured the position as the Eastern Conference coach for the All-Star Game.
Rivers and his coaching staff secured this honor following the Bucks’ comeback from a 25-point deficit to win in Dallas, coupled with the Knicks’ loss at home to the Lakers. This ensures that Milwaukee will have the best record in the East among teams with eligible coaches as of Sunday’s cutoff date.
Despite the Celtics leading the conference at 37-12, Joe Mazzulla participated in the 2023 game, and coaches are not allowed to participate in back-to-back years.
