Very important is a road loss of second ranked Slovenian Cedevita Ol. (11-5) against eleventh ranked Croatian Split (7-9) on Friday night. Visiting Cedevita Ol. was defeated by Split in a tough game in Split 85-93. Shannon Shorter fired 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Karlo Matkovic produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Cedevita Ol.’s coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Split have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Borac and S.Centar. Defending Slovenian champion Cedevita Ol. dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Buducnost. Split will meet Borac (#9) in the next round. Cedevita Ol. will play against Igokea (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 16: Partizan won against Cibona on the opponent’s court 87-74. Krka lost to Montenegrin defending champion Buducnost in a home game 75-86. Zadar recorded a loss to Mornar on the road 78-86. S.Centar lost to Bosnian defending champion Igokea on its own court 81-90.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points by Nikola Maric of Igokea.



Cibona – Partizan 74-87

Very expected game in Zagreb where 11th ranked Croatian Cibona (6-10) was defeated by second ranked Serbian Partizan (12-4) 87-74 on Monday. Guard Danilo Andjusic (194-1991) fired 17 points for the winners. Brazilian center Bruno Caboclo (206-1995) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Serbian Aleksandar Aranitovic (195-1998) produced 17 points and 8 assists and point guard Kresimir Radovcic (195-1997) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Cibona players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Partizan have a solid three-game winning streak.
