Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Athens: Milonas (#3) and Papagou (#8). Papagou was defeated at home 75-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Center Petros Melissaratos (205-1993) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Andreas Kanonidis contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Milonas’ coach Nikos Karagiannis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Panagiotis Kois (200-1998) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds for Papagou. Milonas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-5 record having just two points less than leader Panionios, which they share with Megaridas. Papagou at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Iraklis and Doxa Lefkadas. Milonas will play against Megaridas (#3) in Megara in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Panionios (11-3) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Loser Iraklis dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Papagou and Doxa Lefkadas. Panionios will meet Esperos (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Iraklis will play against Doxa Lefkadas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
