The Spurs waived Cameron Payne, marking the end of his brief stint with the team. Payne had joined San Antonio in July following a trade with the Phoenix Suns.
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, in a recent report, revealed that the 29-year-old point guard is likely to generate significant interest among contending teams.
Wojnarowski wrote on ESPN, “Should Payne clear waivers this week, he’ll have a significant market of contending teams looking to add him — especially after his productive postseason performance for the Phoenix Suns in the 2023 Western Conference playoffs.”
During the previous season, Payne averaged10.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in just 20.2 minutes per game.
