In a recent interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Golden State Warriors forward Dario Saric shared his admiration for the late Drazen Petrovic, a legendary figure in the history of the NBA.
Saric, a fellow Croatian, spoke passionately about Petrovic’s unparalleled shooting ability and the impact he could have had on the game if not for a tragically short career.
Saric’s words were filled with reverence as he described Petrovic, saying, “He was like, AMAZING… you know? Hard work ethic and shooting ability maybe like one of the best in the history of the NBA; he was a sharpshooter, could play and dribble like… he could do it ALL.”
Saric went on to express his belief that Petrovic could have made an even bigger impact on the basketball world, “but unfortunately he had a short career,” he said. “And so I think that he could’ve made a bigger impact for sure; he was one of the BEST Europeans that ever played the game, but kind of like tragedy struck in there and so you know unfortunately, but that’s how it is.”
Drazen Petrovic, who played for the New Jersey Nets, left an indelible mark on the league before his untimely passing. Saric’s comments serve as a reminder of Petrovic’s extraordinary talents and the enduring legacy he left behind.
