Galomar – Portimonense 101-71
Galomar earned Proliga title. They crushed Portimonense to sweep the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by Galomar. Portimonense managed to win fourth quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galomar dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Portimonense’s 36. They outrebounded Portimonense 48-20 including a 37-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Galomar looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Portimonense’s players. The best player for the winners was American point guard DeAndre Jones (180-1998, college: St.Louis) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Mozambican power forward Geremias Manjate (203-1998) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds. Four Galomar players scored in double figures. American forward Rob McCoy (201-1997, college: CUI) produced 17 points and Argentinian Matias Bernardini (190-1994) added 14 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
