An interesting game for HydroTruck (20-7) which hosted in Radom 4th placed GKS (18-9). Second ranked HydroTruck managed to get a 10-point victory 79-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of GKS. HydroTruck forced 20 GKS turnovers. It was a good game for American point guard Kaheem Ransom (186-1993, college: SHSU) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Forward Damian Jeszke (202-1995) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Radoslaw Trubacz (196-1994) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds for GKS. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. HydroTruck maintains second place with 20-7 record behind leader Walbrzych. GKS at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. HydroTruck are looking forward to face Kociewskie Diably (#5) in Starogard Gdanski in the next round. GKS will play at home against Polonia and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
1Liga top team – Gornik (21-6) added another victory to their record. This time they beat thirteenth ranked SGH (11-15) in Krakow 95-88. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SGH. It was a great evening for the former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (211-1993) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. Arinze Chidom helped adding 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The best for the losing side was Wojciech Leszczynski (190-1992) with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gornik have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-6 record. SGH at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Gornik will play against bottom-ranked Start 2 (#18) in Lublin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. SGH will play on the road against AZS PO (#8) in Opole and hopes to get back on the winning track.

It was an exceptional evening for Tomasz Ochonko who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Michal Jodlowski came up with 13 points and 5 assists for AZS PO in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. WKK maintains fourteenth place with 11-16 record. Loser AZS PO keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Koszalin. WKK will meet higher ranked Polonia (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS PO will play against SGH and hope to secure a win.
There were no big surprises in other games of round 27: Koszalin smashed Lublin 2 on the road 116-74. Poznan won against Polonia W-wa on its own court 86-71. Zgorzelec was outscored by Bytom in a road game 86-64. Dziki Wwa managed to beat Starogard Gd. at home 81-75. Pelplin was defeated by Kolobrzeg on the opponent’s court 79-68.
The most impressive performance of 27th round was 12 points and 4 assists by James Washington of Kolobrzeg.
Lublin 2 – Koszalin 74-116
No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Zak (15-12) crushed bottom-ranked Start 2 (1-25) in Lublin 116-74 on Sunday. Zak dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Start 2’s 42. Zak forced 32 Start 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Start 2’s players. It was an exceptional evening for Wojciech Pisarczyk (201-1988) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Center Sebastian Rompa (210-2001) accounted for 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Five Zak players scored in double figures. Norbert Ziolko (189-1999) came up with 28 points and power forward Milosz Ziolkowski (202-2003) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Start 2 in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zak moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Opole. Start 2 lost their eighteenth game in a row. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Zak will meet at home Slask (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Start 2 will play against the league’s leader Gornik where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
