Klay Thompson went off in the Warriors win over the Rockets. The 33-year-old shooting guard tied his season-high by scoring 42 points. He made 12 of 17 three-pointers.
Golden State’s head coach Steve Kerr was delighted with Thompson’s performance, especially since it came in his second back-to-back game since 2019.
“He was brilliant tonight and it’s just so great to see him now at the point where he can do this,” he said postgame. “This was his second back-to-back, obviously, first one being just before the break. I think that night we limited him to 25 minutes.
“He looked great out there not only with shooting, but his rebounding was a factor, his defense and playing 35 minutes second night of back-to-back that’s big time.”
This season Thompson is averaging 21.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 32.7 minutes per game.
