There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in European North Basketball League. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Estonian Tartu (2-4) in Szczecin on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by leader Polish Wilki Morskie (5-0) 78-73. Wilki Morskie looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Bryce Brown (190-1996, college: Auburn) who helped to win the game recording 14 points. American-Polish point guard Andrzej Mazurczak (188-1994, college: UW-Parkside) contributed with 9 points and 6 assists for the winners. Ukrainian Andrii Voinalovych (207-1999) answered with 21 points for Tartu. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Wilki Morskie have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-0 record having just one point less than leader Siauliai. Tartu lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with four games lost. They share it with Prishtina. Wilki Morskie are looking forward to face Valmiera Glass (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tartu will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona and is hoping to win this game.

Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trefl have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Brno at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Trefl will play against Stal (#3) in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Brno will play at home against the league’s leader Wolves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Visiting Valmiera Glass unexpectedly were crushed by in Nes Ziyona 55-87. It was an exceptional evening for Tomer Levinson who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Roberts Veveris came up with 5 points for Valmiera Glass in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ironi Nes-Ziona moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Valmiera Glass still closes the standings with six games lost. Ironi Nes-Ziona will meet league’s leader Tartu on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Valmiera Glass will play against the league’s second-placed Wilki Morskie and hope to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 7 Stal were beaten by Wolves on the road 85-75.

Wolves – Stal 85-75

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Lithuanian Wolves (3-2) beat 3rd placed Polish Stal (4-2) in Vilnius 85-75 on Tuesday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Ahmad Caver (188-1996, college: ODU) who led the winners and scored 17 points. Guard Kristupas Zemaitis (192-1996) accounted for 14 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Wolves’ coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Jakub Garbacz (197-1994) came up with 33 points (!!!) and swingman Mateusz Zebski (190-1992) added 13 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Stal in the defeat. Newly promoted Wolves maintains first place with 3-2 record. Loser Stal dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Wolves will meet league’s second-placed Brno on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stal will play against Trefl and hope to secure a win.
