Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kolossos HH (8-6) against seventh ranked Promitheas (8-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Kolossos HH was defeated by Promitheas in a tough game in Patras 76-80. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kolossos HH. American players dominated the game. Guard Joe Thomasson (193-1993, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and Anthony Cowan Jr chipped in 10 points and 9 assists during the contest. Forward Chris Coffey (201-1997, college: Georgetown, KY, agency: One Motive Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Kolossos HH’s coach Ilias Papatheodorou tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Promitheas have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Kolossos HH. Promitheas will play against Karditsas (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kolossos HH will play against the league’s second-placed Panathinaikos (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 14: Aris lost to undefeated Olympiacos on the road 75-89. Panathinaikos destroyed Ionikos on its own court 102-70. Lavrio was outscored by PAOK in Thessaloniki 93-68.
The most impressive performance of 14th round was 18 points and 8 rebounds by James Young of Kolossos HH.

Karditsas – Apollon P. 80-65

Bottom-ranked Karditsas managed to get a second victory, breaking the eleven-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time newly promoted Karditsas won against ninth-ranked Apollon P. 80-65. It’s especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference suggests that Karditsas is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Olympiacos had a 34-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists.
