The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Brno (14-5) in Usti nad Labem on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by seventh ranked Usti n/Labem (11-8) 92-90. Usti n/Labem made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kris Martin (193-1997, college: Colorado St.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). His fellow American import guard Tony Hicks (186-1994, college: Louisville, agency: Mansfield and Associates) contributed with 24 points and 5 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Richard Balint (192-1996) answered with 24 points and 9 assists for Brno. Brno’s coach Lubomir Ruzicka rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Usti n/Labem have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pardubice and Opava. Brno at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. Usti n/Labem is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Olomoucko (#12) in Prostejov in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brno will play at home against Decin (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between sixth ranked Opava (11-8) and 12th ranked Olomoucko (4-15) in Opava ended with biggest points difference. Opava outscored guests from Prostejov 105-73. Worth to mention a quality performance of Slovakian power forward Jakub Mokran (200-1999) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Radovan Kouril helped adding 16 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side Serbian swingman Goran Vucicevic (195-1990) responded with 22 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Opava. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pardubice and Usti n/Labem. Olomoucko at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Opava will play against Pardubice (#5) on the road in the next round. Olomoucko will play against Usti n/Labem (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Other games in round 19 were not that significant. Pardubice smashed Slavia on the road 75-47. Kolin destroyed Hradec Kralove on its own court 95-75. NH Ostrava unfortunately lost to Nymburk in a road game 80-89. Decin managed to beat USK Praha at home 85-77.

Slavia – Pardubice 47-75

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Pardubice (11-8) crushed 10th ranked Slavia (5-14) in Praha 75-47. Slavia was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international forward David Pekarek (203-1996, college: Fordham) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. Croatian-Bosnian center Robert Rikic (219-1990, agency: AltusBasket) helped adding 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward Jordan Bruner (208-1997, college: Alabama) responded with 8 points and 7 rebounds and guard Martin Kheil (190-2003) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pardubice maintains fifth place with 11-8 record, which they share with Usti n/Labem and Opava. Newly promoted Slavia keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Pardubice will play against Opava (#6) at home in the next round. Slavia will play against Hradec Kralove (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Kolin – Hradec Kralove 95-75

Very expected game when 11th ranked Hradec Kralove (4-14) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Kolin (11-7) 95-75. It was a great evening for forward Filip Novotny (192-1999) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points. Lithuanian forward Dziugas Slavinskas (203-1998, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Kolin players scored in double figures. Kolin’s coach Filip Rytina used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Montenegrin center Maksim Sturanovic (210-1988, agency: 011 Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds and guard Tomas Dvorak (192-2002) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Kolin maintains fourth place with 11-7 record. Hradec Kralove at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Kolin will play against NH Ostrava (#8) on the road in the next round. Hradec Kralove will play against Slavia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Very predictable result when third ranked Nymburk (13-6) won against at home 8th ranked NH Ostrava (9-10) 89-80. Nymburk dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to NH Ostrava’s 28. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Eric Lockett (196-1995, college: NC State) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward Lukas Palyza (203-1989) helped adding 16 points and 4 assists. Lockett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Nymburk players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bosnian Aleksandar Radukic (205-1991, agency: 011 Sports) responded with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Sukhmail Mathon (208-1998, college: Boston U.) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nymburk. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Decin. NH Ostrava at the other side keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Nymburk will play against USK Praha (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NH Ostrava will play against Kolin and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked USK Praha (6-11) lost on the road to third ranked Decin (13-6) 85-77. USK Praha was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Ty Nichols (190-1996, college: Keene St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!). Forward Matej Svoboda (200-1996, college: Dayton) helped adding 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Decin players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard PJ Pipes (188-1999, college: Santa Clara, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Mike Okauru (190-1999, college: UNCW) scored 22 points. USK Praha’s coach Francesco Tabellini tested ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. Decin moved-up to second place, which they share with Nymburk. USK Praha lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Decin will play against league’s leader Brno on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. USK Praha will play against the league’s second-placed Nymburk (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
