The most interesting game of round 13 in the A Division was a home defeat of 7th ranked Duna Aszfalt (7-6) by sixth ranked ZTE KK (8-5) who outscored them by 17 points 94-77. ZTE KK outrebounded Duna Aszfalt 36-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Serbian guard Petar Rakicevic (204-1995) stepped up and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Mitchell Smith (208-1997, college: Missouri) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). At the losing side the former international center Kemal Karahodzic (210-1989) responded with 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). ZTE KK moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Atomeromu. Duna Aszfalt at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. ZTE KK is looking forward to face Szedeak (#12) in Szeged in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Duna Aszfalt will play on the road against Hubner NBS (#14) in Nyiregyhaza and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Fourth ranked Sopron KC (9-4) crushed at home 14th ranked Hubner NBS (1-12) by 41 points 90-49, which is the biggest margin this round. Canadian guard Yasiin Joseph (186, college: Carleton) nailed 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Jordan Barnett accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Darius Perry (188-1999, college: UCF) came up with 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for Hubner NBS in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sopron KC have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Alba. Hubner NBS at the other side stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Sopron KC will play against DEAC (#11) in Debrecen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hubner NBS will play at home against Duna Aszfalt to get more than just one victory in their record.
There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 13: Kormend lost to Atomeromu on the opponent’s court 84-88. Bp. Honved unfortunately lost to Szolnok in a home game 65-72. DEAC recorded a loss to Kaposvari on the road 85-89. OSE Lions defeated Szedeak on its own court 87-69.
Atomeromu – Kormend 88-84
Rather expected game in Paks where 8th ranked Kormend (6-7) was defeated by fifth ranked Atomeromu (8-5) 88-84. Atomeromu dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Kormend’s 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin (190-1992, college: Kent St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side and Serbian forward Milos Grubor (201-1991) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Siyani Chambers (183-1993, college: Harvard) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists and Croatian center Marjan Cakarun (204-1990) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Kormend in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Atomeromu have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 8-5 record, which they share with ZTE KK. Kormend lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with OSE Lions. Atomeromu will play against higher ranked Alba (#3) in Szekesfehervar in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kormend will play at home against OSE Lions (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Very predictable result in Budapest where second ranked Szolnok (11-2) defeated 12th ranked Bp. Honved (2-11) 72-65. Szolnok made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Bp. Honved only scored six points from the stripe. Bp. Honved was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Montenegrin forward Bojan Subotic (203-1990) nailed 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and American Auston Barnes (203-1991, college: Bradley) accounted for 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Szolnok players scored in double figures. American point guard Taz Sherman (184-1999, college: WVU) came up with 17 points and guard Andras Dez (190-2002) added 13 points respectively for Bp.
