The most important game of round 11 took place in Miedzychod between two undefeated teams where Miedzychod crushed Katowice KS 27 (10-1) 74-50 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Katowice KS 27. Miedzychod held Katowice KS 27 to an opponent 23.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Miedzychod forced 24 Katowice KS 27 turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Katowice KS 27 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for point guard Damian Szymczak (186-1995) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Marcin Wrobel (200-1987) helped adding 11 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Kajetan Kuczawski (176-2005) responded with 13 points and 4 assists. Katowice KS 27’s coach Marcin Lichtanski gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated Miedzychod (12-0) have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 12 victories in a row, which they share with AZS AWF Mick. Newly promoted Katowice KS 27 still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Pruszkow and Energa W-wa. They were replaced at the leadership position by Energa W-wa. Katowice KS 27 will play next round against Zary trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Miedzychod will try to continue on its current victory against sixteenth ranked Gimbasket in Wroclaw.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Energa W-wa as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Energa W-wa smashed 8th ranked Minsk Maz. in Warszawa 103-48. It was an exceptional evening for Norman Zuber (194-1994) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. Mateusz Gorka accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Tymon Peplawski (194-2004) came up with 9 points and 6 rebounds for Minsk Maz. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Energa W-wa. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Pruszkow and Katowice KS 27. Newly promoted Minsk Maz. dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Minsk Maz. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Energa W-wa will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Ostrow Mazow. at Ostrow Mazowiecki.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Katowice. Leader host Mickiewicz (12-0) defeated second-ranked Przemysl (9-2) 86-73. The best player for the winners was Marcin Salamonik who scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Lukasz Uberna produced 20 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Przemysl’s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Mickiewicz. Gniezno defeated Gdynia GAK on the road 94-84. Ostrow Mazow. was smashed by Zyrardow on its own court 51-77. Lublin was destroyed by Radom Kolejarz in a road game 94-62. Isetia W-wa unfortunately lost to Pruszkow at home 80-87. Legionowo was rolled over Tur Bielsk Pdl. on the opponent’s court 67-117. Ochota W-wa was defeated by Zubry in a home game 69-86. Legia 2 was smashed by AZS UJK on the road 81-55. UR Krakow destroyed Gliwice 2 on its own court 98-72. Winless Wisla Krakow unfortunately lost to Tarn.Gory in Tarnowskie Gory 53-68. AGH 2 recorded a loss to MKS DG 2 at home 88-100. AZS PCz was crushed by Rybnik on the opponent’s court 70-102. Tychy 2 was beaten by Resovia in a home game 59-71. Iskra Cz was destroyed by Cracovia on the road 81-52. Czeladz was outscored by Bielsko-Biala on its own court 56-83. Zary recorded a loss to Katy Wroc. in Katy Wroclawskie 84-78. Stal Ostrow 2 was crushed by SKM ZG at home 54-97. Prudnik beat Gorzow on the opponent’s court 81-64. Gimbasket was destroyed by WKK 2 in a home game 77-107. Koscian managed to outperform Klodzko on the road 87-71. Olesnica managed to beat Slask 3 on its own court 95-89. Siechnice defeated Sudety in a road game 58-57.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points and 21 rebounds by Jan Switaj of Pisz.

Gliwice 2 – AGH 2 111-71

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Korona (4-7) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked Gliwice 2 (4-6) 111-71 on Thursday. Gliwice 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Korona’s 38. Gliwice 2 forced 19 Korona turnovers and outrebounded them 40-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Korona’s players. The best player for the winners was swingman Aleksander Busz (202-2004) who scored 27 points and 5 assists. Guard Igor Krzych (182-2003) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. Gliwice 2’s coach Marcin Klozinski felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Bartosz Lesniak (176-2006) produced 20 points and 5 assists and guard Mateusz Orlowski (187-2006) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Despite that victory Gliwice 2 went down to tenth position due to points difference. Korona lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Tarn.Gory and Gorzow. Gliwice 2 will meet higher ranked Przemysl (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Korona’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Krakow UR Krakow.
