Worth to mention a great performance of Edvards Egle (187-2005) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 6 rebounds and Rudolfs Svitins who added 23 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Jekabs Kapustans (175-2005) responded with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BJBS/AK VEF have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader Riga/Pard. Defending champion Ogre keeps the eighth place with three games lost. BJBS/AK VEF will play against Riga/Bball clas (#4) in the next round. The winners were led by Rudolfs Pastors who had that evening a double-double by scoring 31 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Even 22 points and 5 assists by Kristians Armanovs did not help to save the game for Salaspils. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Riga/Pard. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Salaspils lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with four games lost. Riga/Pard.’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riga to the arena BJBS/AK VEF.

Other games in round 4 were not that significant. Riga/Bball clas beat Riga Centrs on the road 82-72. Ventspils Spars destroyed Gulbene on its own court 91-59. Riga/Pard. managed to outperform Marupe in a road game 77-73. Liepaja managed to beat Gulbene at home 68-55. Marupe was defeated by Riga/Bball clas on the opponent’s court 66-58.
The most impressive performance of 4th round was 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by Kristians Brencis of Riga/Bball clas.

Riga Centrs – Riga/Bball clas 72-82

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Riga/Bball clas (3-1) beat on the road bottom-ranked Riga Centrs (0-4) 82-72 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Riga Centrs 57-33 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Nils Bigelis who scored that evening 31 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Armands Gailiss (207-2004) supported him with 14 points and 21 rebounds.
