Kevin Durant Meets With Nets; Still Wants to be Traded, Per Report

Brooklyn Nets’ superstar Kevin Durant met with team owner Joe Tsai and said he still wants to be traded, per a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.

That is, unless Tsai fires head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks.

Durant, 33, has four years left on his contract; which means the Nets don’t have to rush into a deal.

The Boston Celtics have been the odds-on favorite to acquire Durant since reports leaked suggesting the Celtics offered all-star Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and a first-round pick.

The Celtics remain the betting favorite; but the Warriors could build an impressive trade package if they’re interested in a reunion with Durant.

Brooklyn is going to have to make some sort of a decision soon with training camp just around the corner.

Durant’s absence, and the $44 million+ cap hit it carries, would certainly be a glaring problem for a team trying to compete for a championship.
