While the Los Angeles Lakers are the team with the most interest in trading for Kyrie Irving, there could potentially be other teams that emerge with interest in dealing for him since he’s on an expiring contract.
The Lakers have so far not been willing to exceed the marketplace in an offer for Irving. For a trade for Irving to work for the Lakers, they will almost certainly have to include Russell Westbrook, who is on a larger expiring salary than Irving.
“The Lakers have yet, I’m told, to be aggressive in trying to put together a deal to get him from Brooklyn,” said Adrian Wojnarowski. “That may come, that may evolve in time. So far, there’s no traction really with deals with Irving.”
