Fred VanVleet has been with the Raptors since the time he entered the NBA six years ago. He has two more years left on his current four-year contract (the last year is a player option).
This summer the 28-year-old shooting guard is eligible to sign a contract extension and he is happy to remain in Toronto for the foreseeable future.
“I love being a Raptor. I would love to spend my entire career here,” VanVleet said. “We have a great relationship with the city, the franchise, the ownership, management. It’s a match made in heaven for me. I love being a Toronto Raptor.
“Hopefully, we can continue that on. I’m not really too worried about contract discussions or anything like that. That’s just the business aspect of it. I’m confident that we’ll figure it out.”
This past season VanVleet averaged 20.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.7 assists in 37.9 minutes per game for the Raptors.
