Emmanuel Nzekwesi

ESSM Le Portel Cote d’Opale (Betclic ELITE ProA) inked 24-year old Dutch international 203cm forward Emmanuel Nzekwesi (college: ORU) for upcoming season. Nzekwesi is the second import player in the roster as USA Ronald Curry signed here earlier.
He played most recently at Belfius Mons in Belgian Pro Basketball League. He managed to play in four leagues last year (!!!). The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 30 BNXT League games he recorded very impressive stats: 19.0ppg, 8.4rpg, 1.2apg and 1.4spg. He also played 6 games in Pro Basketball League where he averaged 14.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2spg. Nzekwesi helped them to make it to the semifinals. He also played 5 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he was league’s fifth best scorer with remarkable 20.6ppg and had 6.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.6spg. And finally he recorded 1 game in Basketball Champions League where he got 15 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
Nzekwesi also represented Holland at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 Division B in Oradea (Romania) five years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 14.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.3apg, Steals-4 (2.5spg), 1.0bpg, FGP: 41.9%, 3PT: 45.5%, FT: 40.0%.
He has played previously professionally in Holland (ZZ Leiden) and NBA Summer League (Phoenix Suns).
Nzekwesi graduated from Oral Roberts University in 2020 and it will be his third season in pro basketball.
