After signing Goran Dragic on Monday, the Brooklyn Nets waived Carter after averaging 3.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game in 46 games this season with the Nets.
Carter joins a Bucks team that needs extra depth at guard after Pat Connaughton suffered a fractured fourth metacarpal on his right hand that will have him sidelined for four weeks. The Bucks are fifth in the Eastern Conference at 36-24. They have 22 games remaining on their regular-season schedule.
The West Virginia alum will be joining his fourth NBA team after being drafted to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2018 and spending two seasons with the Phoenix Suns from 2019-2021. If he clears waivers by Saturday, he will make his debut with the Bucks when the defending champs play against the Brooklyn Nets.
