In an era where the three-point shot has been the major attacking scheme for any player or team, ‘Dunk or Die’ is arriving on all digital platforms to tell us the story of the French slam dunk prodigy Kadour Ziani.
The documentary looks back at the career of Ziani, who overcame a tough environment to become one of the most prominent dunk specialists in the world. Ziani grew up on the playgrounds of Saint-Dizier as he avoided a life of petty crime to travel around the world with only one goal- to dunk.
This documentary brings together family photos, interviews, archives, and spectacular images of Slam Nation’s international tours to tell his inspiring story. Ziani saw dunking as a form of expression, pushing his personal limits until he reached a state of physical and mental perfection.
Directed from Nicolas de Virieu, the film take us to a journey, where Ziani along with Slam nation and his familiy narrates his own triumphant story. With a career full of impressive accolades, including an All-Star Game LNB dunk contest in 2005, while being the co-founder of Slam Nation, which started their career in 1997.
He has the record for highest kick (3m03), while he also possesses the Champagne-Ardenne high jump record with 2.18 m. After finishing his pro career, he organized various European and World Dunk Championships. In 2020, he founded the World Dunk Association to help aspiring dunkers around the world.
