The Philadelphia 76ers and Matisse Thybulle have had preliminary conversations of a potential extension, sources told Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes.
As a selected hopeful in the 2020 Draft, Thybulle stands eligible for a rookie-scale extension. If no deal is being handed at the Oct. 17 deadline, he’ll become a restricted free-agent in the summer of 2023.
Thybulle has been the reliable perimeter stopper against the opposition of the Sixers. The Australian wingman cemented his reputation defensively by being named to All-NBA Defensive Team selections in the past two seasons.
Though he is a highly defensive weapon for the Sixers, Thybulle is yet to achieve a well-refined offensive game, as he only averaged 4.8 points throughout his three-year career.
